Today we decided to bake some cake with the kids. After they had finished their homework for today we went to the supermarket to buy the ingredients. But to be honest it was quite hard to find them... Sugar ok.. no problem, but we just couldn`t find flour and baking soda.. Even when we asked, the shop assistant had no idea and gave us a baking mixture telling us it was flour...
So we gave up and just bought the mixture. At home we just had to add 2 eggs and some oil and water.. So our idea of spending some time with baking a cake was destroyed. It only took 5min to mix the dough and 30min more to bake it. The result was a cake which smelled good but in my opinion tasted horrible and was quite dry... but the kids liked it so it was fine haha.
After eating the cake we spent some more time with the kids (actually just watching tv..) and then, because we felt quite bored; we decided to go out for coffee and some lunch. I wanted to go somewhere I haven`t been to yet and I remembered that Magdalena told me about a Cafe called "book&bakes" which was near the orphanage. The thing was, we didn`t really know where it was exactly so we were just walking down the road trying to find it. Walking down the street was so annoying.. everything was so dusty and it was so hot and there are no pavements so you basically walk in dust and dirt. After half an hour walk we stopped because actually google maps said we would only need about 15 minutes. We decided to walk back and go to "Richmonds` Food cafe" but after some minutes we finally saw Books and Bakes... we just missed it!!
From the outside (actually as every Cafe here) it looked horrible, but from the inside it was quite cute and nice. They have quite good coffee and our lunch was great as well. If you like reading it is also perfect because they have a huge range of books one can read. So we spent some time there enjoying the break of the kids and the chaos on the streets.
Back in the orphanage again we were just sitting around, doing nothing... actually quite boring !!
