Nepal- How to deal with a Nepali hospital

Today we decided to go to the hospital again so Paula`s stiches could be finally taken away. We drove there at 9 o clock. Luckily Paula knew the building we had to go to, otherwise I think we would have been lost haha. There are so many buildings and everything is really confusing..

So yeah, how to deal with this hospital, the people and all the weird things one need to do?

1. Stay calm and take it easy. As it was our third time there we weren`t surprised anymore by the chaos and different weird things we needed to do and we just laughed at all of it because for us everything was just so strange. The best thing is definitely not to panic. And as we laughed and actually had so much fun there I think everyone thought we`ve taken drugs.. We were the happiest people there.

2. Don`t be in a hurry.. everything there takes ages and one always has to run from one place to an other and wait in a line. And there are lots of people.. so yeah one always needs a few hours there

3. Ask people. Without asking everyone 3 -4 times we would have been completely lost... But people were really helpful there and tried to explain and show us everything, even if we sometimes didn`t really understand it, it was still quite nice.

4. Bring money. EVERYTHING costs. We had to buy plasters, creme, extra fee for removing the threads and a ticket which told us the room we had to go to. Every time one has to pay or buy something one has to go to an other place which is so confusing as well.. and you always have to wait which explains point 2. and 3..

So yeah after we got the ticket and waited suddenly someone called names of patients... Of course we didn`t hear ours and after asking we found out that we had to go to a different room.. Everyone had to wait in front of it and one after an other was called inside. But still we were so confused. First of all the door was left open so everyone could listen and watch what was going on.. Second random people were just going inside because they wanted to be next.. So basically the patient had no privacy.

There were two rooms and in one there was a female doctor.. we really hoped that we could go to her as she seemed to be quite nice. And an other brilliant thing happened.. There was a doctor from Italy !!! The only European person in this hospital besides of us yeii!! We were soo happy AND we were even happier when we were allowed to go into their room. But nothing special happened. They had a look at it and gave us a sheet with stuff we had to buy and told us that the stiches will be pulled in the next room.

So first we had to buy the stuff and pay an additional fee. Then we went to the room with the doctor who should remove the threads. Actually "the room" was just a bed and a shelf separated from the waiting room by a curtain haha. Everything was also quite oldschool and we really thought OMG what`s gonna happen now.. The man was quite nice and removed the threads. Actually the wound looked even worse now than before haha but we really hoped that it would heal now. Paula has to rest for one week so we will start the trekkintour on  the 28th of October.

After all the hospital stuff and all the sick people we decided to drive to Thamel to have some cake and coffee.

Then we went to the tattoo studio. It`s called "Mohanns Inn " and I can really recommend it. It`s clean, the people are very nice and one gets an appointment very quickly. How quickly I realized today. I wanted to get a white ink tattoo on my wrist, just to try how it will feel like to get a tattoo and stuff like this haha. And yeah so they told me I could come the other day. The whole day I was sooo excited and nervouse and I think I annoyed everyone with it because I just couldn't stop talking about it. In the evening we decorated the house with lights because the light festival Tihar was coming up next.

And then I tried to sleep haha which was quite hard because I couldn't wait for tomorrow ....🙈
